Tonbo Kenjutsu practitioners are required to own the following equipment, to pursue their training in this Martial Art.

Black Iaigi

Black Hakama

Black Obi

Bokken with Tsuba and Tsubadome (Wooden Sword)

Optional:-

Plastic Saya (Scabbard)

Iaito (Dull edged training sword)

1st Kyu Grades and above:-

Shinken (Japanese Long Sword with live edge)
